After two months of hard work and decorating, House of Harlot has now fully relocated to East London/City borders. Robin Archer and his team are ready to welcome you to their new storefront in London’s fashionable Brick Lane quarter. The shop is open and looks fantastic!

The shop has a fabulous new look, with large changing rooms, stock display and custom consultation area. The workshop where all their designs are made is right on site, as before.

The new shop is loaded at the eastern end of Princelet Street, a street which crosses the famous Brick Lane. It’s a ground floor shop front, with a big picture window, so it’s really easy to find.

Dawnamatrix Designs sponsors fundraiser for Japan disaster relief effort. Japan was more than just inspiration for Dawnamatrix Designs; for three years Dawnamatrix Designs founder Dawn Mostow lived and worked in Japan, calling it home. Feeling the need to give back to the Japanese people after the March 11th disaster, Dawnamatrix Designs sponsored the I Heart Japan Fundraiser event at the luxurious Splash Ultralounge in Boston, Massachusetts on May 12th.

Shiny and intricate latex styles inspired by Japan ranging from kimonos to gowns were on display in a fashion show. “We were really touched by the generosity and compassion of the attendees and the venue owner, who donated their space. We were able to raise over $3000 for the Japanese Red Cross Society,” said the designer proudly.

FXavier: First off, thank you, Abigail for taking the time to answer a few questions about Latex fashion and your fabulous designs.

Abigail Greydanus: Anytime!

FX: What is latex and why do you think there is such a sudden interest in latex fashion?

AG: Latex is natural rubber put through processing to create sheeting that’s then turned into clothing. I think there’s such a sudden interest in latex fashion because it’s becoming more accessible for everyone. From the celebrities that are wearing it frequently, the magazines incorporating it in their pictorials, and the tv shows and commercials that are featuring it as well, your every day fashion lover is seeing it on a regular basis now and are starting to notice that they can wear it too!

FX: How long have you been working with latex?

AG: I first started experimenting with it 4 years ago, and I’ve been working with it full time for the last 2+ years.

FX: What drew you to this unique material and how did you come to design latex fashions?

AG: I first discovered latex when I was in college studying fashion design. I wanted to learn to work with a unique material after graduating, and I was a bit of a “goth kid” at the time so I found out about it reading alternative magazines and going to clubs, I really fell in love with the material.
