I wish to thank Gixxi & Sandmann for all their efforts in the last 10 years. Both of them has done a fantastic job and made a huge impact on the German latex community! Their friendly nature and hard work has been inspiring to all of us and I wish them the best of luck in the future. I’m proud to had the pleasure to meet both of them in person on several CRfriends meetups and fetish parties and hope that our roads will cross again.

The free latex fetish encyclopedia was started back in April 2007, after a Wikipedia editor successfully removed most of the information on “latex fetishism” from the pages of the Wikipedia. It became clear that in order to successfully share our knowledge and to prevent people who do not understand our fetish from tampering with it, we had to make our own encyclopedia dedicated to latex fetishism.

In the first years the LatexWiki was located in a subdirectory of Lustlovelatex.com. Most of the core articles was written by myself and Toproop, who build most of the LatexWiki’s hugely popular shopping section. By the fall of 2008 LatexWiki had 365 articles and was transferred to it’s own domain. Soon after, the number of contributors exploded thanks to a very successful writers contest and in the next three months the number of articles was more than doubled. Traffic sky rocked.

Today, the LatexWiki has over 800 daily visitors and is ranked number 1 by Google for the search term “latex fetish“. The article database is growing faster than ever, thanks to all the contributors and a dedicated team of administrators. I’m confident that the LatexWiki will continue to grow in many years to come.

#1: LONDON, United Kingdom
No brainer. Well established fetish community. Highest concentration of latex designers and performers. But also a country with some strict sexual laws.

#2: BERLIN, Germany
The city with the most latex shops in Germany. Has an established fetish community. Very forthcoming and friendly people.

#3: MONTREAL, Canada
Not the capital of Canada, but certainly the city with a lot of kink. Here is a well established fetish community and regularly clubs and fetish weekends.

The worlds most famous fetish, body art, burlesque & fantasy club is launching a new online TV channel.

Torture Garden TV will launch fully in October 2009 as a members subscription site, but is currency in beta and can therefor be viewed for free.

Gromet from the excellent fetish and fiction site Gromet’s Plaza, in cooperation with Kink Engineering of Toronto is hosting a story competition on his site. Since the prize is a vacuum bed, obviously the storyline must involve a vacuum bed.

“Wilhelmusvlug aka run_paint_run [aka Pim] is an Amsterdam-based artist with a love for fetish, oil and canvas and underground alternative lifetyles. It was inevitable that these passions would come together. The result is a striking new series of fetish portraits in oil paint.”

run_paint_run’s art was on display at the 2008 Skin Two Rubber Ball, where I had the opportunity to meet the artist when I was introduced by fellow Amsterdam-based fetishist Mistress Erika. The artist himself struck me as very down to earth and modest in spite of his tremendous abilities. The art on display were near-photorealistic oil paintings of local fetishists, such as the painting on the right.

According to the artist’s MySpace profile, he is also shooting videos now for Wasteland.  I can only assume that like the rest of his work, the results will be a superb new addition to the fetish community.
