Montreal Fetish Weekend 2007 Report

Thursday 30. August
Fetish Weekend starts early.
After a six hour drive up from New York City, my pet and I rolled into Montreal with a rental car full of rubber clothes and bondage gear, ready to enjoy Fetish Weekend. This would be our second year and we were really excited as we have gotten to know many people throughout the Montreal and NYC fetish scenes since that time and we were looking forward to seeing everyone. Eager to get the festivities started, we hit the meet and greet dinner around 8PM after unpacking and freshening up. My weekend started on a rather horrifying note when we realized that Pet forgot to pack my latex pants! Dread filled my thoughts as I pondered the possibility of not having my outfits the way I wanted them to be - 100% rubbery! I could do nothing about it at the moment though, a shopping excursion would have to wait until the next morning. In the mean time, discipline was in order. She opened her mouth as she was told and I stuffed my bare and rather stinky foot in as far as it would go. With the offensive extremity held fast in her facehole, the look of utter revoltion on her face put a wide smile on mine. Amazing how a little display of suffering and submission goes a long way towards cheering me up.

My hideous lack of rubber pants lead me to feel underdressed next to my pet, who looked lovely in a marbled rasberry and transparent pink skirt and blouse ensemble, worn beneath a black rubber corset, all from Polymorphe . We arrived to see what was originally billed as a small gathering of locals from Bianca Beauchamp's Latexlair forum turn into a seemingly endless stream of people jamming into every corner of the tiny restaurant on Saint Catherine. Physically unable to walk around and mingle much, and fearing being scalded by the consommes and paellas the servers carried, we cozied up to the table next to our fellow NY perv extraordinarre, Dante Posh. A lovely and friendly Mistress Ivanka, Genvieve and Kip from Atlanta and Mistress Mikalfrom Texas - who I bonded with talking about horror flicks and torture methods. Photographer Martin Perreault and promoter Eric Paradis came over and said hello and we talked about Project Latexland, which was opening the next night. We took part in the shoots back in June and it was really exciting to see what the results would look like. Among the notable pervs and fetishisimo hanging out were Mario from Polymorphe, Jean Bardot, Lady Lethe, Rubberdoll, Ancilla Tilia, Steffy (who scared the hell out of me when she called out my name as her everyday alter ego, whom I had never met before) and a bunch of folks I know from various forums such as Observer and Belgian Marc. It was a nice, casual way to kick off the evening and say hello to Montreal and we hung out a bit with Dante and Michael Diamond (of ErosArtist) at her room, before calling it a night.

Shopping 'til it hurts, Project Latexland Premiere and Cabaret Cleo
Well rested, bright eyed and bushy tailed (well ok, she didn't have her tail on yet...), we had breakfast with Observer from Ottowa at Chez Cora, the best breakfast spot in the area, before heading off to take care of my fashion emergency. Having visited both Sexe-Citestores numerous times (and being able to get Polymorphe latex back home at Purple Passion), we wanted to see what Isabeau and Sebastian at the new Fetiche Store had to offer first. Isabeau (who is an old internet crush from when I was active on bondage.com back in the day) took over the old Northbound Leather shop, just a few blocks from our hotel and and is now selling a a lot of latex wear. We could not have been more pleased with the shop! Selling a wide variety of garments from such names as Vex, Blackstyle, The Baroness and Simon O, the store is large and well lit, with a good selection of bondage and disciplinary gear as well. What started as me wanting one pair of pants, quickly decended into a shopping binge with me buying two pair of pants, an olive army shirt, and shoulder length gloves by Blackstyle, as well as a new fiberglass cane. The pants were a little long, but Sebastian would shorten the pants that day and have them ready for Club Cleo that night!

So with the fashion crisis averted we set out for the Project LatexLand gallery opening at The Vernissage. This may have been the biggest highlight of my weekend, as we were able to finally see the finished product of Martin and Gil Perron's photo project that we were fortunate enough to take part in back in June. Hanging six feet by four feet against the exposed brick walls of the gallery, the photos were absolutely breathtaking, and exceeded my wild expectations. With colors so rich and details so crisp, the photos really brought to life the beautiful assortment of rubbery people who gathered that weekend to take part in the shoot. It was really quite a team effort (thanks to Isabel, Pascal and Jeremiefor keeping all of us rubberists alive) and it was such a joy to most of those involved there to celebrate the opening and see the fantastic finished product. To top it off I got to meet my other online crush, Ancilla Tilia.

So after picking up my pants - shortened just as Sebastian said, we dressed for the opening night party at Club Cleo. I went for my new Blackstyle military-style shirt and double zip, sailor pants and the pet done up in a very formal number from Vex. Guys, I can't rave enough about how good those pants feel. The two front zipper provide easy access and the double paneling provide extra strength at the crotch seams, where it's needed most. Excited about what what the night would bring, I was a bit apprehensive about the choice of venue, as last year the place was crowded and this year seemed like it would have an even higher attendance. As expected, the house got packed fast as we mingled with familiar faces. This year's party was much lighter on performances then the previous year, featuring a best maid outfit competition, a fashion show by The Baroness with a Pink Panther theme that went off really well and a few others. I have mixed feelings about the performance pieces at fetish parties. When done well, and kept fairly brief, I like them. However, many times they are poorly conceived and drag on too long, sapping the energy from the room as they become the centerpiece of the party's attention. This year I think the promoters felt they would tone down the performance aspect and let the crowd take the spotlight.

As the place was really filling up past capacity, we decided to head back to the room so pet could change into something more comfortable before we headed off to an after party to play at Mistress Ivanka's loft in the old city. With lots of devious toys in tow (I always overpack), we found ourselves in a large loft, filled with bondage furniture and a throng of teeming humanity using the pieces to indulge in all manner of delightful pervery. With Mikal pointing out a free spot to play, I strapped my pet to a suspension bar and went to work on her with clothespins, before hogtying her and having at her with my violet wand. The place was a little too crowded to be able to play comfortably, but we had some fun regardless. It had been a long time since we played in public, so it was nice to sort of get our "sea legs" back so to speak. A cab ride back to the hotel and we caught a bite to eat with Mikal and Observer, before heading back to the hotel to get some rest.

Latextacy
I woke up the next morning to a text message that our friends Ted and Diane had arrived from NY and were going to catch some lunch in the Old City with LA fetish photographer, "Fucking" Gerry Koehler, his girl Cammi, Diane from Purple Passion and her sub, Rook. We enjoyed fantastic weather as we dined (the mussels and fries were out of sight!) at a French bistro on the old cobblestone, pedestrian street by the St. Lawerence River. Stopping to browse the galleries and shops in the historic area, a few more beers and lots of laughs and it was time for a nap before we dressed for the Latextacy.

The theme of our night was formal rubber DS, as I dressed in a Vex three piece suit, Blackstyle pants, white Breathlesslatex dress shirt, and George Cox wingtip shoes. Pet dressed the part, a rubber pony in Rubber55 transparent catsuit, HW Designs rubber body harness and neck corset combo, black hood and pink leather pony gear from Sub-Shop. I can only imagine what the passerby's thought as I lead my rubber pony up Saint Catherine by her lead, bit secured firmly in her teeth! Later, after the party I would tie her lead to a parking meter for some fun photos on the street. The theatre which holds about a 1,200 was pretty full on the first floor, with the upper level closed off save for staff and photographers. An elevated stage featuring latex-clad dancers, DJ's and some impromptu playing around, dominated one side of the room, while a smaller stage sat in the center (making finding space to dance a bit difficult). Rubberdolland Jean Bardot put on a very hot bondage show with Steffy, the three in total enclosure, heavy rubber and inflatables - just my speed! As always though it's the crowd's energy and creativity that makes the party and the wide variety of outfits and styles provided a nonstop parade of eyecandy to enjoy. After watching the show, we bumped into Ancilla again, who asked if she could ride my pony... the one standing next to me you cheeky bastards! A bit taken aback at how forward she was and obviously delighted (the answer - "duh!"), I lead pet around back and forth through the club a couple of times with Ancilla mounted on her back, looking splendid in a colorful catsuit of pink and transparent purple. So I guess I can check that off my list of things to see before I die... Ancilla Tilia riding my rubber pony wife: CHECK! The evening was a blast and pretty worked up from the night's festivities, pony and I headed back to our room for a little private pony ride around 2AM.

The Night of the Masks
Another afternoon spent eating, drinking and joking around with Ted n' Di, Fucking Gerry and Cami, this time on Saint Catherine, where there are all sorts of gay bars and kink friendly cafes and such. I really liked how the proximity of the events and the host hotel to The Village lead to the party goers bumping into one another on the street in the day time. We would find ourselves talking with all sorts of people that we'd seen the previous night, barely recognizable in their street clothes sometimes! It also gave us a chance to stop and chat with many of the Montreal fetish scene locals like Master Luk, Mai, Sara, Marc, and others. Such a friendly and personable lot they are, I look forward to seeing them all again next time we visit.

The final party of Fetish Weekend was held at the same venue as the previous night, which I found to be a little disappointing. This time the theatre was furnished with a variety of bondage posts, pillars, crosses and benchs of all sizes for the attendees to play on. We walked into the club to one of my favorite tunes, "Frank Sinatra" by Miss Kitten, being spun by Xris SMack, promoter and DJ extraordinarre from NYC. Our motif was heavy rubber, with both of us in matching single eye panel gasmasks (the kind with seperate breathing chambers for the mouth and nose, so they don't fog up in clubs). Pet wore hers over a transparant and black Dolly hood from HW Design. The rest of her outfit was a transparant red Marquisassless hobble skirt and long sleeve top with breast cutouts. Under that a fabulously dangerous black Marquis bra with big rubber spiked protruding out. I was in head to toe black latex and a new single panel gasmask, to match my pet's.The crowd was a little more subdued then on the previous nights, with what seemed like fewer people in attendance, but we had fun regardless - perhaps because it was a bit easier to move about. We wandered around the club enjoying the action, including Event organizer, Eric Paradis and Mistress Alurra kicking around (literally) a cute little Japanese slavegirl wrapped in bandages. The dirty little thing loved every minute of it! Another priceless moment was seeing MOF lead his doll into the club with her head encased in an eyeless black hood from Simon O with a rubber sleeve that is attached to the mouth hole. MOF filled the mouth sleeve with lube and used it to shine her and other people up as she sat blind and helpless, encased in latex. Highly disturbing and erotic at the same time, just how I like it! Make no mistake, this night even more then the others was for serious voyeurism, exhibitionism, dominance and submission and I felt that energy permeate the club as I lead my rubber doll around.

All that partying really had us pretty wiped out and by the time the club closed down, there just wasn't anything left in the tank to make the afterparty. We headed back to the hotel to open up a bottle of duty free Champagne with Ted n' Di instead and finished the night with snacks and a nightcap. Nice way to cap off a fun weekend I'd say. Not so eager to get stuck in Labor Day Weekend traffic returning home, Pet and I would go on to stick around another day to just see the city a bit and have some time alone after all the crowds and chaos of the events.

All in all, we had a fantastic time. As always, most of the fetish folk from Montreal were extremely warm and gracious and the city is as charming and open-minded as ever. The event crew seemed to have a good handle on things for the most part and the crowd (while better dressed I thought last year) had a fun and inviting energy throughout the weekend. I prefered the venues at the previous year's parties a bit more, as they seemed more intimate and exotic, but regardless, it's always great to see so many creative minded and downright perverse people get together to celebrate our fascinations and fetishes. Every time we visit Montreal, we meet more and more of its fabulous inhabitants and we really look forward to returning again some time to visit different parties. Well that's about it for this year's Montreal Fetish Weekend wrap up. If you'd like to see a great collection of photos from the event, visit Eros Arts .

Until the next party,
Andre & Pet
