Fetish Evolution Weekend 2006 Report

By 3xL.
I wanted to visit the FetishEvolution Weekend for some time. It's one of the major German fetish events, with multiple parties, a Dinner, a Expo and a exclusively booked Hotel. So it was with great appreciation I arrived to Essen friday afternoon.

I booked my room at the Mercure Plaza hotel, the main hotel of the event. I knew that there was going to be a lot of familiar faces around, so I was not surprised when I found Kumi, Darenzia, Dante Posh and others hanging out in the Lobby, when I checked in.

The first event was the "Models & Makers reception" in the hotel bar. The reception gave the vendors, models, photographers and the makers of the event a chance to meet and exchange information. I used the time to catch up with Belgium Marc, Sway, Kumi, Sandra, Alexander Horn, Ancilla and Marquis' editor Sandra. Afterwards I went out for a dinner with some Danish friends.

After a few drinks, it was time for the pre-party. And then it happened! All geared up, I fell down the hotel stairs, hurting my right thumb in the process! I think it was a combination of too much Jack Daniels and stairway covered by latex shine. Ouch!

The pre-party was hold a at a new trashy location called Fiasco, located in the centre of Essen. There was several party levels with multiple bars, lounge and dungeon sections and a huge dancefloor. The place was well visited and the music was cool. I took some photos of some of the people there and had great night!

Saturday morning I woke up with painful reminder of my meeting with the stairs the night before. After a excellent breakfast, I was off to a nearby hospital to get a check up of my hand. After a 4 hour wait and some x-rays, the doctor say; not broken, just sprained.

In the evening I had dinner in a Indian restaurant with Valentina, Belgium Marc, Sway, Ancilla and others. The majority of the guests was going to the Nuit Bizarre, a stylish fetish dinner, followed by a fetish party in a fancy location. I took it easy and went of to bed early.

Sunday morning, up early and grab a quick breakfast. Time to visit the "Expo and Art Bizarre" - a fetish expo including art exposition and exhibitors with interesting fetish goods and bizarre fashion articles. The expo was located in the nearby town of Ratingen.

The expo consisted of two long narrow halls combined by a art gallery. The halls was had lots of space and exclusive feel to them. The fetish art section was good quality and variation. There was photos, illustrations, and sculptures. All the art was for sale. The artists was present and happy to talk about their works.

There was plenty latex clothing vendors represented; Demask, Marquis, HW Design, Rubbers Finest and Schwarze Mode to mention a few (see full list here).

The vendors I found most interesting where Maria Sander Latexdesign with her luxious latex handbags, Rubbermagic with simple but beautiful designs and Rosengarn for their fun and festive designs. Among the non latex vendors, Dark Garden and AMF Korsets had some really great stuff on display.

All in all, a good little fetish expo.

Sunday night's FetishEvolution Ball was held at the MudiaArt club there was located very near the hotel. I was in black again, t-shirt and jeans with the long matrix coat. Shiny, slick and ready to party!

MudiaArt was one of the coolest locations ever! Most of all it reminded me of a old industrial/factory complex, where the workers just dropped their tools and left and a 1.600 people walked in to party. There was a huge central hall with large dance floor and huge stage, two smaller dance floors was located in other buildings offered various playrooms, at there was also least two lounges.

During the night there was fashion shows by Rosengarn, RubberĂ?’s Finest, Marquis, Bondinage, Schwarze Mode, AMF Korsets, Brigitte More, HW Design and Dark Garden. There where also surpused to be a performance by Masuimi Max, but I later learned that she never showed up for the weekend at all.

There was multiple bars serving drinks in almost every room. It was a little cold to move between the different rooms of MudiaArt, but some headed air blowers made sure that the guests did not get cold inside. Old machines standing around, huge chains haning, pullys, steel, bolts, dirt and light... and I don't mean the cheap crappy kind, most of it was the real thing. Loads and loads of wonderful decorationstremendouslyy made the huge location perfect for a fetish party. A wicked location, super cool music, many friends and loads and loads of eye candy, made this a party to remember!

Next morning was the FetishEvolution brunch at the hotel. Had to leave early so I only had a short time to try to eat some food (hangover and tired after a long weekend) and say goodbye to new and old friends. See you all next year!
