“The red and black walls of Demask, a high-end fetish wear boutique on Orchard Street, are lined with racks of leather straps, latex jocks, corsets, bodysuits, butcher aprons and other buckles, prongs, chains and kinky accessories.
But according to the Antoinette, the store’s manager, who can be found most days and evenings at the counter, Demask is experiencing the economic slump in its own peculiar way.
“We do sell little things—like toys, masks and small accessories—and we get a lot of foot traffic, but people just aren’t buying our primary wares: the clothing,” says Antoinette, who wishes to be known by her first name only. The store, long a mainstay in the fetish community, has experienced such a sales drop that, according to Antoinette, it’s not even breaking even.”

DeMask’s stuff is over priced and that store will not survive. While they can expect to sell to wealthy trendies the fetish crowd is losing patience with their high prices and looking for online sources for better value.
I think the NYC store will be closed by the end of the year.
Demask latex clothing has to be one of the best makers in latex. I am not one of the wealthy trendies just want the best from the best.I go by this saying THE BITTERNESS OF POOR QUALITY LAST FAR LONGER THAN THE SWEETNESS OF A LOWER PRICE.
The way the world economy is going now I think all latex makes will have to retool and ajust to make sales as all of the world is doing now. Face it when your in latex it can’t get any better who makes it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ooh, that’s a great quote, David, and I agree with you. I’ve witnessed it so many times–an overzealous husband decides to get his wife into latex, comes home with a bag of molded latex, and turns his wife off to latex forever. If her first experience of latex is to something smelly, flimsy and ill-fitting, it’s hard to convince the woman to ever let it near her again!

Molded latex it is OK I look at it as a part time hobbiest latex I would never give a lady this.To me black latex I call black gold and when she is dressed in sheet latex she is priceless. As I am still looking for this lady to enjoy this time with her.
