The issue of copycat latex firms has become a heated one in our community–just witness the latest |R|ubberist.net meltdown reported yesterday, or take a stroll through the forums at almost any latex community and observe what a passionate and divisive issue this has become!
On the one hand, jobs are getting scarce, and our pocket money’s being stretched for such things as food and rent during times of unemployment. On the other hand, our love of latex isn’t going away anytime soon, economy or not! So what’s a latex lover to do, when presented with tempting photos of bespoke Chinese latex selling at a fraction of the price?
Well, if you’re like many of us, you simply shop a little harder, and look to the well established latex makers to see you through these rough times. And why not? Many of these firms are staffed by fellow rubberists only too familiar with the dreams and yearnings of fellow rubberists!
Below are just a few suggestions for bargains you can enjoy with good conscience. It’s likely you can also enjoy these bargains without the added worry of toxic powders, inappropriate and often ineffectual defective zippers and bizarre fit problems.
Miss Rubb is the venerable latex maker Murray & Vern’s eBay store. While you won’t find a catsuit for $129 US, you can find one for £150, which has likely been constructed with only the most well respected latex suppliers’ sheet latex.
Westward Bound also has an eBay store with great feedback and sexy hand glued latex at super prices, such as this cute catsuit on sale at the time of posting for £148.99. There are literally dozens of other items currently on sale which are close to what knock-off shops are charging, especially when you factor in the costs of shipping.
Men shouldn’t be exempt from super duper savings in these tough times, either. Luckily for them our favorite guys at Latex 101 have hung out their own eBay shingle, where currently one could pick up a hand made mens singlet/tank top for £22.99–less than a smelly molded one would cost almost anywhere else!
Do add Kastley to your favorite eBay sellers as well, as I notice they’ve also got a storefront, currently offering vac beds, catsuits, uniforms, baby pants and much more, all at great savings.
I’d like to think the examples provided might make anyone feel less hard done by the greedy Western latex producing capitalist cabal. Please let me know if you’ve made a purchase at one of these sellers’ shop. Be sure and stick around for future posts identifying some of the most egregious of knock-off sellers.
