“Dirty Dishes” is a series of rubber gloves painted with saucy dancers and adorned with “fetish” symbols created by Nicole Steen, a Vancouver based artist.
Painting portraits of women within a pop culture context is what Nicole does best. Working in acrylic paint using a bold graphic style and a flattering palette of color. She first painted on latex gloves for an erotic show at the Tart Gallery. They sold immediately and orders for custom gloves followed.
“Dirty Dishes” gloves are objects of art and are not meant to be worn or used practically. The rubber gloves are painted with acrylic and framed under glass. A custom pair of “Dirty Dishes” rubber gloves cost $75.
